Esperanto-USA is the national nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Esperanto and supporting its community of speakers and learners throughout the United States. Legally incorporated as the Esperanto League for North America (ELNA), the organization is a 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit focused on language learning, cultural exchange, and international understanding.
Founded in 1952, Esperanto-USA builds upon the vision of L. L. Zamenhof, who created Esperanto in 1887 as an international language designed to help people communicate across linguistic and cultural boundaries. Today, Esperanto is spoken by people in more than 100 countries and used for travel, friendship, education, literature, and international collaboration.
Through educational programs, publications, grants, events, and digital resources, Esperanto-USA helps people learn, use, and share Esperanto while connecting them to a worldwide community. As part of the international Esperanto movement, the organization collaborates with partners around the world to expand opportunities for learning, engagement, and cultural exchange.
Values
